Welcome to
Carolina
Longarm Association
The Carolina Longarm Association (CLA) provides education, support and fellowship to longarm quilters in North Carolina and South Carolina. Carolina Longarm Association Guild is the online meeting place for the registered members of the CLA.
The main difference between a domestic(home) sewing machine and a longarm machine is the domestic machine is stable and the fabric sandwich (quilt) is manipulated under the needle; on a longarm machine, the fabric is stationary and the machine head is moved over the fabric layers.
Meetings
We hold quarterly meetings where our members share their LA quilting knowledge and ideas. The CLA hosts workshops for new LA quilters along with providing ideas for marketing their skills.
